Wildfire doesn't stop at one property line. It's a threat that faces all of us: homeowners, renters, and business owners alike. Our safety depends on what our neighbor does and what our community accomplishes together.
We are your neighbors, volunteering our time to fight for a safer tomorrow. We write the letters, attend the meetings, and meet with lawmakers to advocate for the safety of our entire community. But to win this fight, we need the support of every single person and business that calls this place home.
You may not have time to join a workday. Your donation is a sign of your support for us. It’s your voice advocating for change. It is just as vital.
Where Your Money Goes
We are a 100% volunteer-run organization. That means every single dollar you donate goes directly into our life-saving work, not to salaries or overhead.
$25 covers the cost of a booth at a community market.
$100 prints educational materials for 100 homes.
$250 Hosts our website for 1 year.
$500 helps us run targeted digital campaigns to rally our community and pressure officials for change.
$1,000+ allows us to scale our advocacy, creating templates and resources for other vulnerable communities.
More Ways to Give
Many of our neighbors give in ways that go beyond a credit card donation. Each option below can support our general fund or the Second Road Legal Fund, and every gift stays here on Hawaiʻi Island.
Gifts of Stock
Give appreciated stock held more than a year and you may avoid capital gains tax on the growth. Email us for transfer instructions, and include your name, the stock, number of shares, and transfer date so we can thank you properly.
Email UsIRA Gifts
Age 70½ or older? A Qualified Charitable Distribution lets you give directly from your IRA, and it can count toward your required minimum distribution. Ask your custodian to send a check payable to Wildfire Safety Advocates of Waikōloa.
Donor-Advised Funds
Recommend a grant from your fund to Wildfire Safety Advocates of Waikōloa, EIN 99-2633254.
Legacy Gifts

Every donation directly funds our advocacy work, including printed marketing and community education materials, online campaign efforts to support key legislation, and operational costs to sustain our work.

Absolutely. We always need volunteers for community outreach, legislative advocacy, and spreading awareness. Periodically, we ask the community for support in writing letters. The best way to learn about those opportunities is to join our email list.
